On Spring and Forgiveness

“Is the spring coming?” he said. “What is it like?”
“It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine…”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

Spring is almost here and we cannot be excited enough!

The weather has been a little tricky these days though. Only when you decided that it is time now to wrap up the woollens and store them in a proper place, the occasional heavy rains accompanied by the cold winds force you to snug under the warm clothes again.

But the trees and the flowers are in their full glory. The rains, in fact, have enhanced their beauty.

Evenings look prettier these days. Poetry dances across the sparkling lakes.

The sun indeed peeps through those tiny rains drops.

Laughter echoes through our hearts for Spring brings out the child within us.

Ralph Waldo Emerson rightly said, “The earth laughs in flowers.”

Spring brings us new beginnings.

Spring gives us hope and happiness.

Spring reminds us to value the genuine people around us.

It makes us understand that despite all odds, these people will be there beside us and care for us. They are the Springs of our lives.

Spring encourages us to forgive.

“The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.”
― L.P. Hartley, The Go-Between

Neither can we please everyone, nor can we expect all to please us. Let us understand this and move on.

Embrace this Spring with new hopes and dreams. But most of all, forgive your past. Carrying hurt with us only burdens us.

Revenge may be sweet but it has its own dark consequences. Let us not tread on that path.

Spread love. But first, love yourself. Feel this Spring within you. Take care of yourself.

Happy Soul-Searching!

P.S.: In one of my next posts, I will share with you some Spring must-haves for a minimalist closet!
